Welcome to first grade!
I am so excited for this school year at Cedar Creek. This will be my seventh year teaching and my second year at Cedar Creek. I am very familiar with Eanes.
I moved with my family when I was seven from California to Austin in 1997. I went to Bridge Point Elementary, West Ridge Middle School, and graduated from Westlake High School in 2008. I then graduated from Texas Christian University in 2012 with a degree in Early Childhood Education, ESL specialty.
Since then, I have been bouncing all over Texas. I worked with 4th and 5th grade students in Fort Worth ISD as a STAAR mentor and Health teacher before heading to Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD in North Dallas to teach 1st grade for two years. My husband, Tanner, and I moved to Corpus Christi where I taught 2nd grade at Flour Bluff ISD for two years before finally making the move back to Austin last summer.
My husband and I were both raised here in Westlake and are happy to be back home close to family and friends. This summer, my husband and I welcomed our first child, Summer, into our little family.
I will be on Maternity Leave from the first day of school to October 8th. My first day back will be October 9th.
Although I will not be at school, I will still be available to you all and involved as much as I can be.
A little more about myself:
-I have a daughter named Summer
-I have a Border Collie named Pepper and a cat named Duck
- I love to read, travel, and spend time with friends and family
- I try to go to all the TCU home football games (Go Frogs!)
- I love coke zero, twix, and jalapeño chips
- My favorite color is blue
-I have two sisters (one older and one younger) and one brother-in-law and soon to be brother-in-law
-I love George Strait, Midland, and any Texas country music
This will be a fun, hard-working, and creative learning environment. Get ready for a great year! I look forward to working with you all and thank you for your continuous support.
